Rustintel Rust Auth

RustIntel Rust+ Auth is a helper Chrome extension designed to securely connect a user’s Rust+ account to the RustIntel platform.

This extension simplifies the Rust+ pairing process by securely capturing authentication data generated during the official Rust+ companion login flow. It eliminates the need for users to manually copy or paste authentication tokens or perform complex setup steps.

How it works:

When the user clicks the extension icon, the extension opens the official Rust+ companion login page hosted at companion-rust.facepunch.com. The extension activates only during the login process on this page. During login, the Rust+ companion application emits authentication data required to establish a Rust+ connection. The extension captures this data at login time only and securely transmits it to RustIntel backend services hosted at rustintel.com.

The extension does not run continuously, does not monitor browsing activity, and does not activate on unrelated websites. Once login is complete, the extension performs no further data capture.

Data handling and privacy:

The extension collects only the minimum data required to connect Rust+ to a RustIntel account. This may include the user’s Steam ID, Rust+ authentication tokens, and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) credentials when available during login. This data is used solely to complete Rust+ account pairing and enable RustIntel features related to Rust+ integration.

To authorize the pairing request, the extension reads a single first-party authentication cookie (ri_auth) set by rustintel.com. This cookie is used only to authenticate the request to the RustIntel backend. The extension does not read or access cookies from any other websites.

All data is transmitted securely to rustintel.com using encrypted connections. No data is transmitted to unrelated third-party servers. The extension does not track browsing activity, does not collect analytics, and does not display advertisements.

Requirements and limitations:

A RustIntel account is required to use this extension. The extension does not function as a standalone product and is intended solely to support RustIntel’s Rust+ integration features.

Transparency and user control:

Users may revoke the extension’s access at any time by uninstalling the extension and disconnecting Rust+ within their RustIntel account settings.
